Despite utterly depressed mood, overly dramatic edge-overload storyline and boring soundtrack, it’s still quite interesting to see. There are not much wholesome crazy space operas around these days. Even Star Wars is just moping around for past five movies.
Also the song played during credits is some laughable J-Pop.
Maybe it’s a fault of this adaptation, relying on the knowledge of the source material, or maybe it’s just japanese school of writing, but this movie just throws a bunch of high and low concepts at the viewer, supposing they will sort it all out for themselves.
