Well at least South Park is okay in regards to the school life.

How is it even humanly possible to watch american “entertainment” about schools? The characters are always so unbelievingly artificial — it pains. Like who would in their live use the word “popular” near kids? That’s like asking to be beaten up. And it’s living on the edge if you say to anyone that you are “rich kid”.
Well at least South Park is okay in regards to the school life.

Сынок знаешь, ты тоже вот-вот кудесником станешь.
An animated short gothic stop-motion film with interesting style and imagery.
Сынок знаешь, ты тоже вот-вот кудесником станешь.
An iconic animated short with good writing and a very nice delivery. Though VO by Рина Зелёная in her typical style goes more jarring by the year, especially compared to the modern real child actors.
The plot itself is obviously preachy and represents the time of the creation, with a lot of things not common for the free market and civil liberties, even compared with remaining ones which we do have.

An utterly generic oscar-bait think of the children sappy claymation film, which barely warrants being in the kinematographic medium.
The movie treats the foster home as something positive, while it’s just a barrack without a speck of privacy with jail hierarchy and unchecked disrespect to the authorities, which is never discouraged by the staff. Which doesn’t seem to be really interested in what kids think anyway. And so called romance between kids, which is more akin to sexual harassment, became illegal anyway, since law is now treats them as relatives. Well, not all laws, but most countries are strictly forbid such relations and treat foster people as blood related. Yes, his advances did work out this time, but what if she was against it while he read her personal file and touched her in her sleep? Which is happened in the same space where there already lives a girl who is possibly been unconsentedly molested by her father. What if he decided to kiss her in her sleep and fright her to complete mental breakdown? As i said, this foster home is a part of the system, which turns people into criminals. Spend childhood in foster home barrack; got conscripted into military barrack; lived in the dorm during education; had to rent a room in the communal apartment; got a job in the open space office; married some chick and has to live in the tiny flat with her ten relatives; died without ever discovering privacy, personal space or ownership, and therefore spent whole life without any respect to those things of other people.
What purpose it serves to put kids into the barrack? They have money to visit an expensive snow resort, but they cannot afford some drywall or at least make cubicles? If they just have to have surveillance (which they don’t do anyway even with barracks) it’s very cheap to have monitoring and several cameras.
All those think of the children products are always end up being absolutely creepy and about harmful decisions depicted as good ones.

ПРАЗДНИК НЕПОСЛУШАНИЯ
Well, This movie… is.
It’s kinda ok, but is one of those pointless, with unexisting metaphors, not cohesive endings and with random out of nowhere twists with no actual weight.
Even the semi-regular foreword complex pseudo-joke is based not on the actual content of the movie, but on the bits and pieces of quasi-research on the source material comics.

50 первых свитсулек
It is a grimdark fantasy action, with some nice visuals with colourful horde and an ok plot. It is a focused movie about small things and small events. It picks-up siege machines from one of the versions of the legend, but for some reason it uses hamster-wheel trebuchets with “morning napalm”. Such complex engines are not really fitting for the orkz style depiction of the horde.
Though, while by itself the movie can be whatever it wants, it has some racist connotations based on later (to the time period of the events in the film) self-congratulatory autoffelation of misery-fiction to assume martyrdome and heroism. Also the use of this exact dude and a current state of political fanaticism, create suspicion that intentions were not exactly pure.

A sequel to the critically acclaimed (58\100) animated movie Turbo (2013).
An utterly generic movie with rather ugly characters and art-style in general, which actively tries to avoid showing the colourful stuff it teases you with in the backgrounds. Get ready to see everything boring, dull and mediocre and uncomfortably uncanny textures on people. I can’t even decide what is more unpleasant — live characters or skeletons, which are supposed to be awesome and the best part of the whole film.
The plot (or rather holes which is all that left of it) is predictable, stale and tryhard. And of course there is a retarded “comic relief” unfunny sidekick. All narrative and pacing are sacrificed to have heavy spoken exposition dumps, with the knowledge, characters are already supposed to have.
All moment to moment writing and all narrative are utterly amerikan United-states-anglo-saxon. Well, what else you can expect from a writing team of exclusively anglo-saxon caucasian citizen of the USA?
The original VO cast is mostly of so-called “latino” origins, but alas, i saw this film with localization and as always it was atrocious.
The mexican afterlife is just as bad as real one, it has corruption, bureaucracy and class struggle. Even the oblivion looks stale. What’s the appeal of the afterlife, if you will continue to be a small worm and has to work on a job.
The only visually interesting thing is the deus ex machina winged tiger, who is also tonally depicted as a fearsome antagonist. Well, the whole roster of characters is filled unlikable jerks, caring only for their own agendas and pretending otherwise.
The Book of Life is generic and mostly dumb, but at least it looks like the best animated film ever made (for the most part). This is just bad and generic. Almost all recent above bad Disney\Pixar releases are “critically” panned, while cheap sloppy sappy pathetic plot-hole ridden oscar-baits are getting all the praise. Brave was nice.

An okay animated short film with interesting style, but with stilted animation and strange audio mixing. You can’t even tell that it’s voiced by THE LITERAL CANCEROUS TUMOUR.

Fantozzi alla riscossa
With Fantozzi being on pension, this movie mostly focuses on his everyday life and adventures.
The comedy works for the most part. Outside of usual Villaggio antics it is comprised of slapstick and absurdist bizarre situations, some of which include very interesting props and decorations. Like his post-apocalyptic death race modified car, for example.
Fantozzi in paradiso
From bad to worse. No matter how horrible the Ugo is, he somehow manages to still have a moral high ground, compared to the world he lives in. And the older he gets, the worse he is treated, even by closest relatives. While i can see his relations with Mariangela not being that great, she treats her mother, the only almost positive character in the whole series (though an ultimate doormat after the pension event), just the same.
Moment to moment jokes are great, but overall tone is so dark and depressing that it's kinda sad to watch, especially if you know that this is more of aggregation of real life events than their exaggeration. Judging by italian cinematic worlds, their life is rather similar to ours.
When the series switched Liù Bosisio to Milena Vukotic as a Pina, Ugo's obsession with Signorina Silvani became absolutely unfounded. Though, even at a later age Anna Mazzamauro portraits the character owning every place she happen to be at. Even with her suicidal depression, behavioral problems and on\off clinging to Ugo since the pension event.
Fantozzi – Il ritorno
The ride never ends
After the ending of the previous movie, Fantozzi was literally resurrected (with slight retcon) and has to suffer five more years on earth.
After eight movies of being more or less it’s own thing, this one is more dirty. But overall it’s still okay and has enough good parts.

A generic dystopian boxing+crime movie but in the setting of dope-olympics.
While the core story is working, the world itself and the sentiment this movie tries to sell in the background are really dumb. These people are rioting against absolutely legal ancap-like laws. If you don’t want to sell your body for experiments — no one forces you.

Another generic “based on real events” movie, i.e. not even remotely resembling the real events. All characters are written with complete knowledge of their real-life success and the core conflict of the movie is yet another angry wives cat-fight.
It’s not entirely unwatchable, but it loses a point for sheer historical inaccuracy.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition
A nice package of the original game and it’s first expansion. They did a lot of minor tweaks and balance changes and added new, improved GUI and an increased game-speed option. There are also some minor content additions in the form of optional mini-bosses. This release have also added some steam integration. The achievements are mostly dull, tired and counter-productive. The best ones are for one-time most-effective use of the skill or ones pointing towards optional advanced bosses. The worst ones are working against the core gameplay feature of mixing different classes. Also it was free for the owners of the originals.
Ragnarök
Nordic has a peculiar scheme for monetization of the nostalgia. While everyone make sloppy re-releases and faux-HD remasters, the Nordic just makes minor quality of life patches and contracts a new DLC for the target property. One of which is this ten years late expansion to the Anniversary Edition.
First of all it significantly expands the stash. But still not making it unlimited to obsolete the TQVault (now with AE).
The new character class can nicely synergize, but don’t introduce anything new, just re-skins of other spells.
All new items looks good enough up close, but their icons stand out as cheap. If you compare them to the originals — you’ll see that they lack cell-shading and high contrast.
New NPC are voiced okay, but all enemies are just awful, and considering how much is there of them, you will hear them a lot.
New relics (etc) are the best part. We finally have XP boosters of which you can have a lot, and first relic for summoners.
Thrown weapons are plainly screwed up — they are not integrated in the base game, so until north you can only buy them. They are having half the range of a bow, but use the same character AI, so you get shot at while your dood just stands in place, instead of closing in.
Dyes being changed into local outfits is kinda ok, but I don’t think I like all of them or care that much.
New levels are amateur, there are a lot of places where you can miss the turn and will not know where to go. In an H&SARPG. Then, there is a ton of backtracking and bad placements of main quest NPCs. Resurrection wells are often placed right in the spawns of the enemies, so if you die just once, you can easily lose a million of EXP in a span of one minute, being repeatedly ganked on respawn.
Writing. You can easily say the difference between original uptight pompous tales of gods and heroes and new stories of sexual harassment, atrocities of war, adultery, respecting women minorities local tribes, the creation myths of kraut and cows and unending pants “jokes”. Not that it’s that much worse, at least it’s using real norse mythology names. But still, it’s not the same and it is less fitting for the setting.
Well. I don’t think this expansion is that good by itself, but it adds a new act and generally expands a good game. It probably is not worth the current asked price and it handles co-op in a disrespectful way, by just kicking DLC-less hobos out. But it is not ruining the base game and is fruitful for high-level EXP grinding.

A generic soapy dramatic drama about retarded people making retarded decisions, feeding crazy people’s delusions and then blaming everything on white-collar drone
Сынок знаешь, ты тоже вот-вот кудесником станешь.
A grimdark animated movie filled with weeaboo-style magic battles. I’m not that familiar with DC Comics, but this rendition of the Constantine is more akin to Marvel’s Doctor Strange than to the Keanu’s version. He spams random magical spells and deals more with other magic users than esoteric heaven vs hell religious plane.
It’s nice to see an adaptaion of other characters than another Batman or Superman story. Well, it kinda has Batman in it, but he is more of a comedic sidekick in this one.

A pretty generic spacemarine film and one good at that. It has returned news-flashes of the first movie and has bad-gov-good-joes plot, but it lacks its especial cynicism, and the villain is rather too vain. Plus, the only female soldier even wears indestructible full frontal 70s prostitute make-up inside the motorized armour.
Cinematography is mostly ok, but some cuts are too chaotic for no reason. Also it has lens flares and film grain. In the CGI cartoon. Film grain. Nosulus rift.
It turns out that i don’t remember anything at all from the Heinlein’s book.

A semi-biographical movie about post-war period in finland and 80s AIDS crisis in the USA. It’s leaning a bit too much on the art-house post-modernistic not-rhyming vinegret of a timeline and PTSD flashbacks to the war, but overall it’s watchable.
The acting overall is fine, but the real Tom looked much better and manlier than Pekka Strang, who looks like a hungry fish which survived concentration camp.
Though, it should have featured a little bit more of the art (say, on par with the Big Eyes movie) and exchange (at least some of) the post-modernistic editing to the post-post-modernistic\meta-modernistic stylization. Which is already kinda there with him seeing his character from time to time. And which also is the main feature of this artist’s works, basically being a kind of the spiritual sequel to the riace warriors, and predating overly ripped and dry Mr. Olympia craze.
As far as Oscars are nominating the movies by the merit of the tokenism, they at least can take this as an okay one, over some made-up soppy garbage which they will definitely nominate instead.

An oh lol so random comedy action with jarring jumps in tone. It is incredibly dumb, but it actually works for what it tries to be.
The animation is mostly ok, but you can spot every shortcut they made during the production.
The film more or less fits into the DC animated universe (not to be confused with DC Animated Movie Universe), but that’s not official, yet.

Mom's little armenian genocide schindler's list drama, where osman empire citizens are speaking english language with bad accents. And it is ruined by tacked on gag-inducing love triangle and Bale with fake stache playing the literal Poochie.
It could work as a serious straight-drama, but it is filled with amerikan tropes and prefers to use french songs over armenian.

The Zero Theorem
Watching it second time reveals that it actually doesn’t have a cathartic ending. Though that is expected from Gilliam.
The Book of Life
Second time “outside” art-style looks even worse, “inside” art-style looks even greater and the story itself doesn’t feel that bad anymore. It even feels kind of good enough. But the generic cover songs and bad jokes are still jarring.
