It is a nice movie and historically accurate for the most part, but they decided that absurdist crazy comedic reality of the country should be, as always, an american drama about destiny, serious business, tears and stuff.

It is enjoyable, but absolutely generic contamination story, with dumb characters and post-modernistic visual narration in the (trivial) european ending.

The movie was going strong, until the moment you realize, that it's just first part of the movie. And it seems, just like with maze runner, that only first part has quirky concept and the rest will be trivial generics in survivals umbrella. Also, unlike the rest of it's kind (young adult sci-fi flicks for girls), it lacks literature source material, so if it flops — story will remain untold.
All dance scenes are shot like modern post action, with too much cuts and boring incomprehensibility instead of easy-made choreography of the literal dancing. Also it lacks dubbing or тает лёд sitting!
Ironically, while usual "serious" sci-fi going dumb grey-brown pseudo-realism sirius business, the spirit of crazy ideas and visuals for sci-fi survives only in moder young adult chick flicks. Well, not in the 5th wave, that was pile of drab crap.

По сути те же щщи, что и Чайка, только название противное. Да и в отличии от более наглых, но сугубо финансовых схем Чайки, фотографии в открытую выложенные в instagram — выглядят более впечатляюще.

Американский фильм снятый американцами по американскому сценарию, традиционно не имеющий отношения к реальным событиям.
Но сам по себе фильм выдающийся. Хотя последняя треть и тянется к днищу под весом клише и натужной псевдо-морали, слабо повествуемой в течение фильма — кинематография местами изумительно хороша.

Первая треть фильма вполне себе интересна, но после скатывается в тривиальщину глупых людей делающих глупые людейные вещи состоящие из глупостей.

It's a pants-on-head retarded, dumb as fuck shit stack movie, but still it is two times better than the 1995 cartoon.
The story is hard to judge, because it is more of a reboot, than an adaptation of same source. It's inconsistent and is about incompetent people, and it outright lifts a lot of scenes from the 1995 film. But at the same time it makes everything better and more appropriate, than in 1995. Even the scenes it directly copied now make much more sense and are better. It feels almost like the great cyberpunk movies of 80-90s: The Lawnmower Mans, Johnny Mnemonic, Hackers, Nirvana. Though, not as crazy or powerful or deep (well, the depth of the 1995 was "water is wet").
The problem is, i'm not talking about how great and focused this movie. The plot is very poor, because they decided that they must use all the "key" scenes from the Kōkaku Kidōtai and the Kōkaku Kidōtai (1995), but didn't manage to integrate them properly in their own story. This film would probably be much better with less of memeberry scenes and with more original content.
What i'm actually talking about (again) is how abysmally bad the 1995 film was. It was even more unfocused, made even less sense and had absolutely wasteful pacing, it entirely failed to provide the narrative for what it tried to say. Well, at least the new film had realized that it has to change the dumbest scenes in the history of the visual media from the 1995.
On it's own it is a visually great movie (which is the most important for the visual media, duh) with a story, which is not just better than the story of 1995, it is actually quite good and deserves a better plot. It could've been better, if it had refused to do fan-service for people who will hate the film anyway, by copying parts of the terrible 1995 adaptation of Kōkaku Kidōtai, which already was pretty unfaithful to the source material. It could've as well been an original IP, but as for now it has too much of heavy luggage, to realize it's full potential.

It has nice animation and a tolerable plot, but that ending was so retarded that even the kids in the cinematheatre laughed at it. C'mon it's 2017 fake deaths are a death sentence for writing. (Rangers didn't have a fake one).
Can't say anything coherent on topic, but something-something feminazi, one-dimensional mansplainers and transfague identity. But that's probably as coherent as the film did it, with the openly manifested "morals" used as an envelope.
The usage of licensed music is mostly good.

I dislike the Power Rangers very much, i hated it in my childhood. But i am okay with japan's originals, i kinda want to actually watch them. And i liked Chroma Squad until the abysmal postmodernist letter.
This movie is yet another generic origins story of the recent years, but it is fun to watch, it is mostly intelligible and it has good usage of licensed music.

Обычно в сюжетах про откусывание больше чем можешь проглотить вся вина лежит на герое сюжета целиком, но здесь это же какое-то издевательство: все "друзья" используют героя, заранее зная о сезоне, который происходит раз в году, так ещё и постоянно будят заумными разговорами когда она уже отключилась и отдыхает. И никто не мешал им вместо этого взять и помочь пока она не в сознании.

It is more of a Bond movie and doesn't have much raiding or tombing in it. Still has bad slo-motion and crazy plot, but not much of imaginative stuff, mostly just generic spy things.

It is a casual version of a city-building genre with predetermined buildings placements and almost none negative events to take care of. And the art design is great and coherent in the "cutesy-undead" style.
Downsides being, that it has only one map, which eliminates repetition of high-player-agency early game, where most city-planning happens, unlike later-game fine-tuning. And considering that all placements are uncustomizable it's better that way. You can chain games in this sub-genre one after another, pretending that you play different levels, while having new aesthetics every time. And the problem with the mid-game is that even with all upgrades, resource gathering is too slow and you just waiting with nothing else (like fighting fires, crime or epidemics) to do. Next is the story — you are just start doing stuff and don't know why, nor do you know who or what attacks your town. Speaking of which, defense is not only mechanically pointless, but even lacks any feedback, like your godhand throwing lightnings or something into enemies.
It kind of works with UWS UHD Surround, but GUI scaling hides important parts of the map from the player, so it's better to just play it windowed.
Overall it's a one nice and pleasant feelgood playing session of several hours with podcasts or youtube videos on second (fifth) screen.

But in itself it's quite okay. It feels like one of crazy imaginative 80-90s action movies, but made with 00s technology. It even inherits weird scene-pieces and good, but not quite appropriate to the tone licensed music.

В сумме этот фильм ничуть не лучше другой постановки, притом из-за излишнего реализма города ломает suspention of disbelief, к тому же эта версия более жестокая без смысла. В версии Бёртона всё гротескно и сказочно, что лучше передаёт атмосферу.
Лучшим моментом фильма являются песни умпа-лумпа, к сожалению остальные песни — посредственная голивудская жвачка своего времени. Да ещё и этот Чарли как-то не вышел — другой более хороший мальчик.
