Забавно, как он реконтекстуализировался из сатиры на бюрократию и цензуру совка на современный продюсерский голливуд с комитетами и вмешательством. Но и сама по себе картина остаётся смешной с идеальным визуальным повествованием, отличной озвучкой и хорошей заглавной темой.

Princess Bride

— How do you do fellow kids?
— Go back to your coffin grandpa, it's past your time.

Firstly, "modern time" envelope should die, it brings nothing to the story and is barely present, while distracting from the actual film.
Second, this movie is so far up it's own ass, that it cums cum of the dinosaur every time it remembers OH HOW QUIRKY AND ZANY IT IS.

Writing itself is insufferable cringe of 13 years old trying to impress first girl he noticed and is not a senpai of. And it is also condescending in the same vein as stuff made "for kids" (exclusively), while also not being gentrified, which maybe gave it cult appeal in it's quieter castrated times.

It should be forgotten and die as any contemporary piece, which doesn't capture zeitgeist but can only be noted in it's contemporary form.

It is so damn boring and unfunny, there is nothing happens for no point. It's like an old grey stump with giant sсript "WEED AMIRIGHT" on it. Like that's supposed to be funny.

Майор Гром

Отличный короткометражный боевик.

Причём "сетап" взятый в перевёрнутом виде из Sherlock Holmes (2009) можно использовать для великолепных "квантовых" боевиков, сочетающих сразу два стиля — сначала герой делаёт всё с максимальной эффективностью и пафосом, после чего отматывают время назад и показывают все неудавшиеся попытки, где очень много действия, драк и прочего.

Escape from the Planet of the Apes

It is another unasked for sequel, with characters having knowledge they couldn't. But in itself it's a compelling movie.

I though that new films act as a prequels to the originals, but as it turns out they were a reboot in the end. Too bad.

Защитники (Фильм)

It is what you prejudice from it. And i wanted sum daym action with scythe kazakh and minigun wielding bear and NO RETARDED TEARS.

Plot outline is solid, nothing is ruined with production stupidity (like it usually is), writing is good and villain nerd with dumb face is an excellent choice. Regrowing pants were intentional joke, judging by the shot, which only adds to the experience.

So, let the arsefire rise from all sides, let every bom-bramzeil be teared. Antirussians would scream about "patriotism", which is not exactly shown, since it's more about personal revenge, manipulation and fraternity of peoples, than rashka stronk. Local nazis wouldn't be happy with armenian as a leader and kazakh as the coolest guy, while russians are evil. Dumb people wouldn't get the obvious (dumb) meta-jokes and intertextuality, while would be forced to fall to one of the sides. Amerifags are predisposed to hate everything local and fap to everything hollywood, film-hipsters without taste are already hating it based only on director's name alone.

Ну, пиздуза уже начала, накропили про злого "путенга" даже не посмотрев сам фильм или открыв википедии, по пути подрочив на голивуд. Сплошная куча фактических ошибок.

Вурдалаки

It is an okay movie, but whatever they advertised for or was in preprod\1st version — was turned into an action movie. Though action scenes are dead by thousand cuts. It looks cheap and sсript is weak (characters could just use tons of holy-water instead) but it's inoffensive and enjoyable.

Taxi Driver

Absolutely boring and pointless movie about nothing. No one cares for your nam, for your vets and for their mental state, otherwise someone would care for all that in real life. What's wrong with usa army in the first place? Also "that" scene is the utmost tryhard meaningless and corny thing.

And that ending is so tacky! It could be just a grimdark\art-house wanna-be "jazzy" movie, but instead it turns into some cowboy redemption square flick.

To have a good portrayal of american went going FUBAR, without waste of two hours of time you can as well just listen to Insane Clown Posse — The Tower.

Blade (series)

Несмотря на то, что над сериалом работал тот же человек, кто режиссировал Trinity — сериал зачем-то устроил edgy grimdark и довольно уныл. К тому же страдает от "приквелизации" — запихивает все известные факты длинною в жизнь героя в один конкретным момент времени один за другим. К тому же финал сезона просто отвратителен, все события оказались совершенно незначительными и ничего не изменилось. Хотя они могли спокойно разворошить весь дом Chthon и неплохо закончить на этом. Один готов, одиннадцать впереди; двенадцать сезонов — вполне себе неплохая длинна для сериала.

А так, в целом, в принципе не более чем терпимо. Единственными яркими эпизодами являются относящиеся к независимой работе. Сериализация без сквозного сюжет или с фоновым сюжетом возможно была бы получше в этом формате. А концовка так вообще убивает всё.

It was ok until it went to "low point" trope (and "gimme chance" speech) in the worst possible way by main character acting like a degenerate over-reaching retard who ruins everything himself. still tolerable though.

The Great Wall | 長城

It is balanced more towards western action and plot, while visually it is distinctly eastern. Despite Damon defiling zhuge nu — the movie is still good, almost great, even. It's pretty colourful and full tower of stained-glass was a good addition.

It is strong movie designed for specific impact. But it's set back by sheer craziness of everything.

It seems to be very influential for post-apocalypse style, with cults of the bomb and radioactive ghouls.

Planet of the Apes

It is kind of great and focused movie with rubber masks and imperfect scene\shot narrative. Trying to achieve those final frames they made protagonist not recognizing a giant iconic statue in the middle of empty beach. While same moment can be slightly less gotcha and more emotionally impactful without breaking sense of location or protagonist.

For example: protagonist's head slowly rises above hill as in the western movies; now he sees something, his eyes express utter bewilderment; he starts slowly murmuring "no, that can't be" in disbelief; getting faster and more hysterical; screaming louder; his companion looks scared; he forces his horse to run so fast that it slightly trips, sending him out of the saddle; with continuous screaming of disbelief he gets up and runs toward the object until he trips and is on all four; continues to his original monologue.

Jerome Klapka Jerome — Three Men in a Boat

A rather pointless retelling-fiction of a contemporary hipster (who then were as useless evolutionary rejects as in this age). In the beginning the text is somewhat fascinating due to peculiarity of the language and metaphorical poetism, but it grows old rather fast. Reference to the year 2000 is notable, one can wonder what the reader from future would feel when he gets to the part where his age is referenced.

Overall, in this day this would be no more than a blog-post of a autistic depressed transgay vaper on some dying site with fake news, fighting against "ok" sign, because now it is a nazi-symbol all of a sudden. Especially, since just like that, this was written by a "journalist" who fancy himself a funny guie.

Cultural content is no deeper than namedropping from the じょしらく (Joshiraku) series or the opening of the Jam by Yahtzee.

The Lego Batman Movie

It is just a post-modernistic pile of pop references and family values. Though, it gets one bonus point for animation.
3D was passable.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

I demand resident evil 5,5!

In it's core it's a nice film. But it is too dark and brings death of thousand cuts per scene. Also filled with cheap jump-scares. Despite it claiming that it is a final movie, i see no objective reason to stop this ride, i'd watch as many as they can make, as long as it remain being fun and don't start whining. And even now nothing indicates that it was a final movie, since it ends like unasked for sequels usually start.

Also plot point of her thinking that she is real is really dumb, since she is at least third or fourth-gen clone and she knew that last film.

3D was as pointless as usual.
